I have known Chris Stent since October 2016 when he started working on a major extension and renovation project at my home. The project was completed in mid-August this year and involved a 2 storey side extension, single story rear extension plus significant internal remodelling of the interior space.
Chris was the lead man on the project liaising with me and managing all external contractors and suppliers. He managed a team of up to 6 members (carpenter, builders and labourers). In addition he carried out, or oversaw, all carpentry related aspects of the project. These comprised all structural timberwork (including roof), hanging new doors to all rooms, fitting new kitchen, larder and utility room units and new skirting and architraves throughout.
At all times during the project, Chris kept quality at the forefront of his work and demonstrated an impressive eye for detail. He made numerous suggestions to improve on ideas and he showed good problem solving skills.
For example enabling an extractor fan to be fitted flush in the kitchen ceiling that required adaptations to the floor joists above. Similarly the fitting of an inset gas fire as a centrepiece in a large open plan room which required a solution to be found to allow the recirculation of heated air that satisfied building control requirements but that didn’t detract from the overall designer look.
